New standards

News in the area of guidelines and standards

The world of standardization is always changing. As a matter a fact standards are being made at an faster pace. It is difficult to keep track of all developments. The engineers of DARE!! will monitor it for you. You will find an overview in which all new and revised standards can be found.

Beware! Guidelines are translated into national law and can be copied freely. However copyright is placed on standards and they should be purchased. This can be done by NEN for example.

Types of standards

There are two distinct types of standards. Product standards and basic standards. Basic standards are not harmonized while product standards are. As long as no harmonized standard refers to a new (version) of a basic standard this is of no significance for CE Marking. A product standard must first be accepted by the European Commission. From that moment on it is a harmonized standard. Usually a transitional period applies.

- On august 21st 2009 a change is published concerning the list of harmonized standards of june 5th 2009.

- New guideline (2007/47/EC) valid from march 21, 2010.
